About Tamarack Aussies

Welcome to Tamarack Australian Shepherds. We are located in southern NH. I have owned , trained and bred Australian shepherds since 1985. I found my first aussie from a breeder while I was in veterinary school and I have been active in this breed ever since. My first dog was Lauelane Boss and with "Boss" I started obedience and herding. I continued to work him herding both sheep and ducks during the busy years as a veterinary student. Boss was a versatile dog and a devoted family pet. Working and living with Boss was instructive toward handling dogs both personally and professionally.

My next dog was Gypsy Kae Olivia, a puppy purchased with the intent of pursuing obedience competition. "Olivia" was to be my first dog to be awarded a CD. At this time I had moved from PA to NH and started training classes with obedience judge Tony Cherubini. I was then hooked on obedience, and Olivia and I both learned how to work with positive reinforcement. Olivia's greatest attribute is her love of children and has been a devoted friend to my daughter for 18 years.

My next obedience dog was Tamarack Frosted Lily, one of Olivia's pups and bred by Crown Point Crimson Tide. "Lily" was an amazing dog with an intelligence that helped cement my interest in performance dogs. She set the standard for what I would expect in a working companion and has been hard to match.

I purchased Mistretta Sparrow Hawk from Judhi Chopping at Gearhart Aussies. I admire the Mistretta line of dogs for their beauty and strong clear colors, intelligence, versatility , temperament and record of health. I have bred Hawk to Crown Point Hannah and this cross has produced proven performance dogs. Hawk has been worked in both obedience and has competed in conformation.

Gearhart Mile High Falcon "Milo" is a half brother to Mistretta Sparrow Hawk and is the sire of my current litter. This litter is an Ada x Milo cross and I have black and red bi's and tri's. I hope this litter will continue the line of intelligent, highly biddable performance dogs!

All of our breeding dogs are cleared for elbow and hip dysplasia with either an Excellent or Good rating by OFA and are of sound temperament and health. Our puppies are cleared for MDR1, DM, CEA, PRA and hereditary cataracts. All puppies are health guaranteed, vaccinated, wormed and started on heartworm preventative. We are available for help for the life of the dog and request the right of first refusal if the dog has to change homes. We carefully screen and interview all prospective buyers.
